Having trouble figuring out what steps you need to take in order to get your IT plans into action? Although it may seem far away, the year 2020 is approaching with some significant changes for outdated Windows Servers. Recently released is the Windows Server 2019, which for those with 2008 Windows Servers, now is the time for a serious migration. Not migrating could mean serious ramifications for your system, leaving room for possible hacks and data breaches, as the operating system will soon be deprecated. Additionally, Windows 7 is soon to follow suit, meaning if you did not take advantage of the free Windows 10 upgrade, it is time to update your system.
There Is Still Time
If you’re in the pool of people who are still using a Windows Server 2008, or Windows 7, this is a project that needs some attention, sooner rather than later. For those with the Windows Server 2008, rebuilding the OS varies, and in some cases takes longer than others. Reinstalling the programs on the previous operating system can be more complex than others, so consulting your IT professional about the time and cost is important.
Get Ahead Of the Game
Don’t wait too long, as 2019 is well underway. Start budgeting now for this future migration, before you find yourself with an outdated system. Other projects can wait when it comes to this migration. Make sure consult your IT provider to understand the full scope of the project at hand.
